Now that we had been given our brief for our new scene recreation project, we started conducting research into what scenes we could choose to recreate. This took quite a bit of time as we were not able to agree on a scene as a whole group. We made sure to look at scenes that were relatively simple in terms of technical achievability. For example, we didn't want anything that had a complex set, props or camera positions/movements.

Potential Scenes

One of the scenes in consideration was this one from Call Me by Your Name where Perlman and Elio are having a conversation. This scene fit our parameters in terms of having a simple set and simple camera movements.

Another scene we looked at was from Whiplash. This scene was much more complex than what we would prefer so we decided against it.

Other scenes we looked at are:

After much deliberation we came to the conclusion to use a scene from Peep Show, where Mark finds out he's a father.

We figured that the set was easily replicable by using one of the crew members houses. We have easy access to vital props that have been used to drive the narrative. The scene is also shot relatively simply and we are all confident we will be able to achieve it.
