The second day of filming for our scene recreation project has been completed. This time we focussed on the other character's, Mark, POV scenes. However, after reviewing the footage we shot the other day, we realised that there were some shots that we needed to re-shoot.
Specifically, in some of the shots in the bedroom you can clearly see one of our lights at the edge of the frame. This was because our camera operator had the camera too close to himself, due to lack of space, and couldn't notice it in the screen. We resolved this issue during todays filming session by booking out an external monitor.
One of the main issues we experienced during these shoots was trying to perfectly match the timing of shots and dialogue to the original version. Due to not having access to professional actors, this became one fo the biggest challenges of the project. It required multiple takes to get scenes and shots correct. Another issue we faced was syncing up audio from the zoom with the footage we shot. We hadn't had the microphone attachment on the camera during the first shoot so this meant we had no onboard audio with the footage. This will make it fairly difficult in post to sync audio.
Overall, I think we have been very successful in the shooting for this project, especially compared to issues we faced in our previous projects.
