What Went Well?
I think we were quite successful with our scene recreation. Most, if not all, of our shots were near exact of the shots in the actual scene. Our lighting setup for Charmaine's (Ruth) shots was almost near exact. We managed to replicate a similar "light-wrap" of Charmaine's faces yet still leaving enough shadows. We had to transcribe the scene ourselves to create a script. I think that it is pretty bang on with maybe one or two differences but that's not what we were being marked on.
Improvements?
Our lighting for Jack's (Angie) shots could have been more accurate. For these scenes we decided to remove the soft-box from the lights, for whatever reason. Because of this it cause harsh shadows to be cast on Jack's face rather than having it wrap around smoothly, like Charmaine's shots. Also, our set could have been more accurate however, this was also something we were not being marked on.
In both character's shots, there is not enough background bokeh. This was because our aperture was set to high. Because of this it meant we had less depth in our shots which took away from the actual recreation itself. The audience would end up being distracted by what they can see in the back of the frame rater tan focussing on the characters interaction. This was an amateur mistake and everyone in the crew as been made aware.
